If you’ve visited this blog before, you know I make my living as a realtor. So, you might be surprised to learn that my job is not to sell houses. I mean, sure, it’s what I do. But my real job is to promote our community.
I think about it like this: if I’m going to be a valuable asset to my clients, I need to be an expert on all things Northwest Arkansas. No exceptions.
That means knowing which neighborhoods are closest to your kid’s school or your office. It means knowing where you can realistically get “the best bang for your buck” when it comes to your budget. It means knowing if ten miles takes ten minutes or 30 minutes during rush hour.
But being a local expert means getting to do really fun things, too! For instance, I know that the best burger around is made at Parkside Public in downtown Rogers. Because I’ve tried it. Many, many times.
In the same vein, some of our best sandwiches are over at Flashback Pizza and Milkshakes. (You want the “My Cousin Vinny.” It is unbeatable.)
Craving wings or pork shanks (we love our pork shanks in NWA)? Head on over to The Rail-A Pizza Company. And don’t just take my word for it — their wings were voted best in the state!
If you have a sweet tooth, Trash Ice Cream in Bentonville is a fun spot to stop. Just don’t be fooled by the name. The “trash” in question is in the form of cereal, candy, cookies, and more. (And yes, they have dairy-free options!)
Or perhaps you’re in the mood for some good old-fashioned biscuits and gravy. For that, you want Jaclyn’s Kitchen. They also make a mean breakfast burrito. (Comfort food all the way, baby!)
And one more food-related tip: the best cinnamon roll can be found at Table Mesa in downtown Bentonville. Their bakery is incredible, and the cinnamon rolls are huge.
All right, now that your children are running around with a sugar high, I recommend bringing them to Lake Atalanta in Rogers or the Scott Family Amazeum in Bentonville. Both are perfect for a Saturday afternoon!
Again, being a realtor means that my most important job is to be a megaphone for our community. On Sunday mornings, you’ll find my family at Fellowship Bible Church, then Jaclyn’s Kitchen for breakfast. It’s more than a beloved routine — it’s a duty for which I’m proud to take responsibility.
I live, work, and play here in NWA, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s a joy to promote our small businesses and welcome new neighbors to town.
So, if you’re new here and need someone to show you around, give me a call. I’m happy to give you the local tour!
